Joey Cullen, Youth Pastor |
Prior to
Pastor Joey's conversion in 2002, he suffered from drug addiction and lived a life of rebellion.
Pastor Joey started using drugs at the age of nine and it was a down hill spiral from there. Growing up in a non-Christian household,
he never knew how to look to Jesus for all his troubles or learn to deal with different issues in
his life. At age fourteen, Pastor Joey was arrested due to charges of arson.
He was thrown into a mental institution and from there sentenced to DYS (Detention Youth Service), where
he spent the next year and a half of his life.
When released from the detention center he found that same crowd again, and soon after that drugs started to take control of
his life once again. For the next year I found myself more lost than I could have ever imagined, with thoughts of suicide continually entering
his head. While locked up, my mother was delivered from drugs as she gave her life to Jesus. Though she would tell
Pastor Joey about Jesus all the time he would not listen.
